Pick a web tool if you work on a computer or an Android phone: Meshlox is a free tool with image mapping and an R6 preview, UGCraft has a limited free plan and paid credits, and AIPolyLab takes reference images and shows a 3D preview. Pick Skinomics if you are on iPhone or iPad and want generate, preview, edit and upload in one place.
Look up "AI Roblox shirt maker" and you'll find two kinds of results: websites and phone apps. They can seem interchangeable, but where a tool runs changes how you actually work: which device you need, how you preview a design, how you fix mistakes and how the file finally gets onto Roblox.
This comparison is for creators deciding between a browser-based tool and a phone app. On the web side, we look at UGCraft, Meshlox and AIPolyLab. On the app side, there's Skinomics for iPhone and iPad. All four use AI to turn a description into classic Roblox clothing, so the real question is which workflow fits your setup.
We checked these tools in October 2026. Prices are US prices in USD and may vary by country, and where a tool doesn't publish its pricing, we say so instead of guessing.
App vs website: what really changes
The device you need. A web tool runs in a browser, so it works on a Windows PC, a Mac or an Android phone. Skinomics is an App Store app for iPhone and iPad (iOS/iPadOS 15 or later); the App Store also lists it for Apple Silicon Macs as "Designed for iPad" and for Apple Vision.
Where your files live. With the web tools, you generally download a PNG and keep track of it yourself. In Skinomics, designs are saved to an inventory on your device, where you can reopen, export or delete them.
How the design gets to Roblox. On the web, you download the file and upload it through Roblox's Creator Hub. Skinomics can upload from inside the app after you sign in with your Roblox account. Roblox's fee is the same either way: 80 Robux per classic shirt or pants.
How you work. A computer gives you a big screen, a mouse and a keyboard. A phone gives you touch: in Skinomics, you can dictate prompts with voice input, drag to rotate the 3D avatar and pinch to zoom.
The web tools
UGCraft
UGCraft turns a text prompt into classic shirt, pants or T-shirt UV textures, which you download and upload to Roblox yourself; there's no direct publishing. The site also has separate tools for 3D work: a Clothing Maker for layered clothing, an Accessory Maker for 3D accessories and a Cage Generator in beta. UGCraft doesn't state the output size or format of its shirt maker.
Its free plan gives you 20 credits, adds a watermark and is for non-commercial use only. Paid plans are Creator at $9 a month billed yearly ($108, 300 credits) and Pro at $18 a month billed yearly ($216, 700 credits).
Meshlox Clothing Maker
The Meshlox Clothing Maker lets you describe an outfit or upload an image; JPG backgrounds are removed automatically. It maps the design onto the torso, arm and leg panels, shows a live R6 preview and downloads a 585×559 PNG. Meshlox calls it a "free tool" and doesn't show prices. It also warns that traced brand logos get moderated, which is good advice for any tool.
AIPolyLab
AIPolyLab takes a text prompt, plus an optional reference image, and produces a shirt or pants template with a real-time 3D preview. Images in its library are watermarked. We couldn't verify its pricing, so check the site before you rely on it.
Skinomics: the app route
Skinomics keeps the whole loop inside one app. You type or speak a description, or shuffle the suggestion chips for ideas, choose Shirt or Pants and send. The result opens on a 3D R15 blocky avatar, where you can rotate, zoom, adjust the lights and even save a screenshot. Then, if anything needs fixing, the template editor gives you a panel guide overlay, drawing tools, 16 sticker packs, shapes, image import and layers.
When the design looks right, you sign in with Roblox and upload, or export the PNG from your inventory. Discover and Explore add hundreds of ready-made designs to browse when you'd rather start from something.
Skinomics is free to download. Each AI generation needs one short rewarded ad or Skinomics Pro ($5.99 a month or $25.99 a year), and reference images are a Pro feature. The limits: it only makes classic shirts and pants, it's App Store only, the interface is in English, and its 4.5 rating comes from 42 ratings.

Price, and what "free" means for each
"Free" covers very different deals here:
- Meshlox calls itself a free tool and shows no prices.
- UGCraft is free for 20 credits, but with a watermark and only for non-commercial use; selling-minded creators will need to look at its paid plans.
- AIPolyLab doesn't show pricing that we could confirm, and its library images are watermarked.
- Skinomics is free if you watch one short ad per generation, or $5.99 a month or $25.99 a year for Pro.
Whatever you use, Roblox charges 80 Robux to upload each classic shirt or pants. Selling also needs ID verification, 2-step verification, a Roblox Plus or Premium membership and a 10 Robux publishing advance per item.
The workflow, start to finish
On a web tool, the typical path is: write a prompt (or upload an image), check the preview, download the PNG, open the Creator Hub, and upload it there. That's comfortable at a desk and easy to fit around other image editing you do on a computer.
In Skinomics, it all happens in one place:
- Type or say what you want, for example "pastel tie-dye hoodie with a small smiley on the chest", and pick Shirt.
- Send it with Pro or after one short ad, then check the design on the 3D avatar.
- Fix anything in the editor.
- Sign in with Roblox and upload from the app (80 Robux), or export the PNG.
You'll find more detail in our Skinomics tutorial for beginners.
Which should you choose?
- You work on a computer: a web tool. Meshlox if you want a free tool that maps your own image, UGCraft if you'd like layered clothing and accessory makers on the same site, AIPolyLab if you want to guide results with a reference image.
- You have an Android phone: the web tools, through your browser. Skinomics is on the App Store.
- You're on iPhone or iPad: Skinomics, if you want to go from prompt to preview to edit to upload without switching devices.
- You plan to sell: remember UGCraft's free plan is non-commercial, and check each tool's terms.
Verdict
Web tools are the natural choice when you design at a computer or don't own an Apple device, and Meshlox, UGCraft and AIPolyLab each bring something different: free image mapping, a path into 3D, or reference-guided generation. Their weak spot is the hand-off: you download a file and upload it yourself, and two of the three don't publish full pricing.
If your phone is where you make outfits, Skinomics keeps generation, 3D preview, editing and upload in one app, with a free ad-supported path. For iPhone and iPad users, that's the main reason to pick an app over a website.
